As a beginning teacher, my practice is guided by the whakataukī ‘Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini’—my success is not mine alone, but the result of collective strength. This belief shapes the way I build relationships with learners, colleagues, and whānau, and underpins the inclusive, community‑focused classroom environment I strive to create. I believe every learner thrives in a safe, welcoming space where curiosity leads the way. I plan clear goals, use simple and consistent routines, and check for understanding often so each student feels seen, supported, and challenged. My previous career in accounting has strengthened my analytical thinking, organisation, and ability to design authentic, real‑world learning experiences. As a reflective practitioner, I value collaboration, professional dialogue, and continuous growth, and I am excited to contribute positively to a school community that shares these values.
Outside the classroom, I value time with whānau, exploring the outdoors, and engaging in activities that keep me grounded, creative, and support my wellbeing. These experiences help me return to the classroom with fresh ideas, energy, and a strong sense of balance.
