We build a community of learners who drive their learning, strive hard during their learning,

and then thrive on their successes.

We are a small community school that has been serving the Linden and Tawa area since 1952. With a long and proud history the school has pupils from New Entrant level to Year 6. With students from a wide range of cultures we are truly multicultural and represent a real slice of New Zealand Learn more

Ngā mihi nui.

Welcome to 2023. An exciting new year with a few changes happening.

Firstly Mrs Hill is on study leave for Term 1 so myself, Ms Dabbs, will be Acting Principal. In my place, we welcome back Mrs Parr as our classroom release teacher.

We continue to have renovations happening. Hopefully the admin block will be completed by Term 2. Room 3 (Ms Engel) will then move to Room 10 so that the rest of the junior area and Hall can be renovated. Room 2 (Ms Roberts) has already moved over to Room 4 beside the library.

This year is our production year. Fingers crossed we get to perform this on a stage this time. We will be doing Taniwha Taniwha. More information will come out throughout the year.

We continue to have Ko Taku Reo on site with 5 permanent students.

This year we have also changed the year groups in our classes. This should reduce movement from class to class throughout the year with students staying with their teacher for at least 2 years so as to build a classroom community.

In Term 1 we focus on Hauroa. A big part of this is our relationship with whanau and getting to know our students. We strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe. At Linden we emphasize that we are a family so please feel free to pop into your child's classroom and say Hi to their teacher.

An exciting new year for us all.

Ngā mihi,

Bex Dabbs
