Years Four to Five

Years Four to Five in Room 7 with Vera Gonzales

Welcome to Room  7

Kia ora,

I am originally from Manila, Philippines, and migrated to New Zealand with my son, Elliot, who works as an Industrial Designer in Wellington. Prior to teaching, I worked back home in the banking and stockbroking industry for 9 years. I joined Linden School in 2016 and feel very privileged to be part of a great, supportive team and multiculturally diverse school community.

Apart from teaching in Room 7, I am also Within School Leader for the Tawa Kāhui Ako. I have been teaching for 18 years and am passionate about developing young minds to prepare them for meaningful learning experiences.

Room 7 focuses on and believes in strong Universal Design for Learning (UDL) practices, wherein all students get involved in designing their learning experiences. Collaboration between students and families is highly encouraged, and Tuakana Teina is promoted to establish good relationships in class. We are an Enviro School and take the time to look after our school grounds and garden. We believe in looking after our bodies and wellbeing and take the time to focus on healthy eating, exercise, and wellbeing practices. We have Cultural Sharing and Library sessions every Friday.

Please do not hesitate to visit us in Room 7 to see your child's new classroom, or even to just have a quick catch-up about your child's learning. All the best for 2024.

Kia kaha,

Ms. Gonzales
